CraftRank

Minecraft server hosting, measured

Instead of the hosts' own promises, this page will show how servers on CraftRank actually do on each host. We need a few more servers per host before the numbers mean something.

Hosts compared

medians over the servers we watch on each host

Not enough servers on CraftRank run on a host we recognise yet. This table fills in by itself as more servers are listed.

Questions

Is there free Minecraft server hosting?

Yes. Aternos offer free Minecraft servers. Free servers usually stop when nobody is online and start again when someone joins, and they have less memory than paid ones.

How do you know which host a server uses?

From the server address (servers on Aternos get an address ending in aternos.me, for example) or from the network its IP address belongs to. Servers behind a DDoS protection service hide their host, so they are not counted.

How we measure

CraftRank pings every listed server every few minutes. We know which host a server runs on from its address (for example name.aternos.me) or from the network its IP address belongs to. The numbers on this page are medians over those servers, so one broken server cannot pull a host down and one great server cannot lift it.

Uptime is the share of our checks in which the server answered, since it was added. Ping is measured from our checker, so it depends on where the server is as much as on the host. Free hosts stop a server when nobody is playing, which shows as lower uptime: that is how they work, not a fault.

Prices and plan details are written by us from the host's website and can change. Some links to hosts are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may get a commission. It never changes the numbers, which come only from our checks.
